    Thinking of a Genesis, need f/back

    Rather than jacking someone else's thread I thought it might be easiest to start a specific one...

    Background; I'm new to boats but have good experience with high amp land vehicles

    Now; I'm looking for a good entry point & want something reasonably bullet proof than I can use in moderate to (occasionally) rough salt water. I'm looking at the Genesis because of cost mostly (I know I'll build something expensive soon enough) & it seems easy enough to upgrade along the way. Ultimately I'd like to have a build capable of 62-63mph. In land based speed run vehicles you get amp spikes (if that's news to anyone?) but constant amps are a new concept to me

    I was considering the Genesis with a C/C 1520/Turnigy 240 using a Hyperion 6500 6S pack, my questions are;

    Am I thinking about this the right way?

    What prop(s) should I be considering?

    What know upgrades do I need to consider?

    Is there a "best setup" for these hulls or should I be looking in another direction entirely?

    Any help or advice is appreciated

      I would run an m645 with that setup.

        Setup is great for the Genesis hull, but use 2x3S batteries, one in each transom.
        A better setup is a twin

          how fast do you want to go and how much money do you want to spend? these two questions determine the setup most of the time..like yourself i was thinking about one of these with twin castle 1520's and the turnigy 180's...it would be a rockin setup with these motors and real fast..

                            IIRC he's running a Neu 1521/1Y in his.

                            I'm getting ready to put a Castle 1520 in mine.

                              Great looking hull. I'm looking to start a twin cat myself and I like that hull. Can you tell me what size it is and where you got it? Whenever I looked for Genesis all I could find was RTR boats from HK.
