Anyone used one to make hard prop shafts? Trying to come up with a cheap way to make some shafts and center drill them. I think there's a few bench top mini- lathes out there. Just need to center drill and not sure how to get that done without a trip to the machine shop.

I am a Machinist by trade (but now I do Engineering) and I would highly advise staying away from that lathe or others similar to it. Besides that I have owned one!
They are junk. Can barely cut aluminum let alone steel of stainless. You cant take crap for cuts on them. The gears are plastic... The drive system is weak. They are not very accurate either...
If you truly want to buy a metal lathe for making prop shafts I would highly advise watching for a smaller more high quality lathe. Also something with collets and not a chuck. It will allow you greater accuracy when you flip the shaft to drill it.
