custom esc's?

someone on another forum suggested that any esc could be turned into a monster by replacing the factory transistors with a few 300 to 500 amp capacity hexfets from international rectifier corp. any truth to this? anyone fooled with it? ive seen all sorts of people adding caps but never anyone really messing with the boards.

any input helps, lets hear some thoughts on the subbject
