JAE FE LiPo Compartment

I am waiting for my JAE FE to come back from being built.
Does anyone who owns one know if a 5000 4S 40C LiPo
with the dimensions of 138 x 45 x 46mm fit ok.

Width of the tub deck opening is usually the limiting factor. I measured it at 48mm so you should be good. My 45C Hyperions fit no problem. My cheapo Turnigys are a snug fit.

Is that the norm for the interior layout? Anyone else have any other interior pictures?

The layout is pretty much standard. Battery goes between the rear bulkhead and rear boom. ESC goes in front of the boom. ESC motor wires are extended a few inches. Doug Smock installs a false floor that the battery sits on and runs the wires and cooling tube underneath. I just lay the wires over the top of battery. First pic is the business end of my boat. Second pic is Doug's battery/ESC layout.

John it works perfect when you're not pulling 80 to100 amps with your "limited" setup. lol
We have several of these running and they are doing well. Nothing is hurting and the guys will tell you they run great.
There was 2" of wire added to the motor leads. 4" of that came from the battery leads so technically we only added 2'' to the setup, none if you consider the loss of the series jumper that was originally wired to the control.
I really like the way it cleaned up the set ups, not that there is anything wrong with what my bud Chilli did.

So bear with me here cause I am a rookie.
So when you say "Limited set up" are you refering to like a P-Spec set up with a UL1
motor & speed controller.

Also I am thinking I would like to put (2) 2S packs instead of (1) 4S pack
so as to not have so many style packs.
It seams to me that 2S packs will be much better for placement flexability
within other hull set ups that I want to get.
Any info on that theory of mine taking into account my lack of knowledge
would be helpful.

I use a sub floor like D.smock. I use both 2s and 4s in my rig. The 4s really cleans up all the wires. I too added extra lenght for the motor leads and found noting wrong with it. These are awesome hulls and becomes boring on how well they run.
