    oil for the motor bearings

    what oil for the brushless motor bearings?
    is crc 5-56 ok?

    i woulda thought a light grease would be better on a motor bearing. i think the oil works its way out of the bearing faster. all our motor/ rotor bearings are greased where i work anyway, better protection if its constantly rotating

      Don't use grease on BL motor bearings - how the heck do you get enough into the bearing to do any good? These bearings are designed for oil lubrication and have no provision for packing with grease.....

      There are several oils specifically formulated for high rpm bearings offered by motor makers, etc. They offer film strength and the correct viscosity to stay in the bearing shell. Use them. Sure you can use 3-in-One oil but it isn't the best. Neither is CRC 5-56 which is a penetrating oil and has a low film strength compared to oils designed for the job of lubricating bearings. While it is just one of many better choices, here is what I currently use:
