What is too much temp bl motor?

hello, i have a nemesis blue 540xl its 1200kv I use it in a supervee 27, it runs 6s lipo an x645 prop. it shows 1550-1600watts max in my etti datalogger. that is every time i give full throttle.

the 540xl comes in with 50 degree celsius is this too much?

in the chart below it says 800-1600watts for this motor so is it okay too run it at 1550watts max? of course i dont have full throttle all the time..

    MOTOR MAXIMUM WATT RATINGS.

Always look at the maximum WATTS the motor is rated to handle. The heat will kill the magnets and possibly the controller if you get it to HOT.

    Continuous rating/ 30 second rating

    Neu -
    1506 - 700 watts/ 1500 watts
    1509 - 1000 watts/ 2000 watts
    1512 - 1200 watts/ 2500 watts
    1515 - 1500 watts/ 2700 watts
    1521 - 1700 watts/ 3000 watts
    1527 - 2100 watts/ 3300 watts
    2215 - 3000 watts/ 5000 watts
    2230 - 6000 watts/ 10000 watts

    Feigao
    580L - 1800 watts/
    540 XL - 800 watts/ 1600 watts
    540L - 600 watts/ 1300 watts
    540S - 450 watts/ 1000 watts
    380L - 450 watts/ 1000 watts

    SV - BlackJack 800 watts/ 1600 watts

    Ammo 2300 - 700 watts/ 1400 watts

    700sc - 650 watts

    Volts (X) Amps = Watts

Always calculate your setup Watts and prop it to run close to your motors Max Amp rating. (maximum effeciency rating)

    sv motor

also i have the stock supervee 27 motor 1800kv people say real kv is 1550..
the chart says 800/1600watts for this engine? isnt this too much because its a much smaller engine than the 540xl?

The wattage numbers are guidelines from the motor makers, they are not absolutes. A motor can get far hotter running 1000 watts with poor cooling than it will at 1500 watts with excellent cooling. A motor with a 1500 watt rating will not blow up if you run an average of 1505 watts through it.

The maximum magnet temperature depends on the magnet quality. For example, a Neu motor is safe at a 185*F can temperature, but a Feigao may start to de-mag at 160*F. It is best to keep the outside of a motor below 150*F - the interior temperature of the magnets in an inrunner will always be higher than the can temperature.

What is 50 celsius........122*F.....? If so, sounds fine to me.

Good point fastblack. 1600 does calculate as being to high. Steven says it is a 1hp motor. What is recommended for this motor and I can change the chart.

Why are you running that motor and 6S power on a 27" hull and what ESC are you using?
