    Fan cooling anybody?

    Hi guys

Recently my outrunner was damaged because of the heat, probably caused by the change to a bigger prop.

I'm thinking of using one of those car fan cooler with the outrunner.

    http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/rc-hea...l?cPath=293_32

The heat sink won't be clamped to the motor but just glued to the hull with the air blown against the back of the outrunner.

Will this work in terms of efficiency of air cooling the outrunner? Has anybody done that before? Any pics or comments?

    Thanks

    JC

Too small. Just go to an electronics store and get a 30-50mm computer fan. I bought a 40mm fan for $5 yesterday. Mount it near the motor so it blows from the front end to the PTO end. Wire it to an external power source (I used 4S1P/800 mAh cells) or to the power end of the ESC. Just be sure to get a 12 volt fan if you are running 4S or 6S, 6 volts for 2.3S.
