leaking stuffing tube ?

    leaking stuffing tube ?

    i have a stuffing tube with flex cable and teflon lining

    i greased it as well

    but the water keeps coming in

    what am i doing wrong ?

    Put a piece of piece of water tube or heat shrink over the end of the stuffing tube and a little section of the flex shaft inside the hull, it acts as a seal. Also some guys use a piece of shrink tube over the nose of strut and stuffing tube. Maybe someone can explain it better then me or post a pic.

      Vacuum Caps

      Go to an auto parts store and get an assortment of vacuum caps...get the size that fits the stuffing tube, (e.g. 1/4") and punch a hole (e.g.3/16") in the end and slide it over the flex shaft and stuffing tube...
      I let the dogs out...

        grease between the teflon and brass tube as well. Water can seep up between the two.

          Yeah the silicone tubing or heat shrink works great for me. And if it doesnt seal it 100% put a small sponge under the flex/ST. That will catch the left over!
