What other LiPos chargers have the balancer built into them besides the Bantam.

        baterry charger

I have a couple of the Hyperion EOS 1210i chargers. These in my opinion are the best. They do a super job on the Ni-md cells have a great charge and discharge set-up with 0.1 volt intervals of current variations for both. It is also capable of 10 amp draw which means it can easily do 10S lipos. This in combination with the hyperion balancers makes it one of the best lipo chargers as well. I think it retails for $159.00, but it is worth it. This may be the last charger I will ever need. This maybe the only thing that I have that won't be obsolete in a few years.
        Just my opinion,

I have 2 of the Check Point chargers and I have 2 of the Hyperion EOS 1210i and love them all, I use the checkpoint more for car stuff and the Hyperion chargers with the balancer I can charge 2 packs up to 6s each at the same time.

those 2 would get my vote

          Hyperion up to 12s lipo

          Checkpoint only up to 4s

WOW!! What a great bunch of answers to my questions. Thanks for the help guys. Well I always try to do the right thing and in this case the right thing seems to be to go Lipo. A brushless Graupner mini sprint on lipo is gonna be nuts.

What equipment on the boat has to be changed in order to run lipo batteries? Lipo is totaly some thing new for me cause I never considered it before.

You know.......the blinky balancers are so inexpensive and reliable, and they can be used on most any lipo on the market, I've talked to guys in San Diego, and they shrinkwrap one to every batery and charge through the deans plugs.....
balanced everytime, also discharges in balance, cool. thats what im shooting for. the balancers are only like 24 bucks. you can getem even cheaper on ebay, and i dont have to look for new balance chargers. I'll just use my Hyperion 7i. FMA is a good charger I use those for my 11.1V plane batteries up to 3amp. but 4000mAh - 8000mAh I'll use Hyperion 7i or 12i

Ni-Mh bateries are just way to much work to have fun.

My old Triton up and died a few weeks ago so I did a lot of research and I ended up with the Hyperion 1210I. I spend most of my time flying E-powered planes so most of my packs at 3S & 4S but now that I built a boat I am still running some round cells and I am very interested in trying some A123 cells. The Triton was great but I was limited by the 2.5A max charge rate....I was looking at over 2 hours to charge 4000mah Lipos. All in all the 1210I looked like the best bet, it was powerful, can charge 2 6S lipos at 10 amps at the same time (you do need two balacers to do that though). I got away with the Triton for 6 years or so and it was great but now that I have the 1210 I wondered how I dealt with the slow charge times.

                Cheers,
                Jim

                  Shameless plug.....

We have both Hyperions in stock if anyone is interested. Also, blinkies.

                  thanks,
                  Steve
