    SUGGESTION to repair broken hull

I got my UL - 1 thru an online HS and received in the mail last Monday. On my first ran with this boat this Saturday I had an issue with the rudder and hit a dock on the lake that cause damage to the front. For some reason, the rudder won't turn as you direct it. I have attached the image of the steering rod from the servo and rudder and it seems its straight. I checked most of the images of other UL-1 online and even on the aquacraft wesbite the steering rod has some like and angle on the middle. Also, I noticed the steering rod has lots of RUST.

What is the best way to fix the damage front of the boat? Can I use a Bondo short strand fiber glass filler?

is there something I can buy to just cap the whole?

That damage isn't bad. Get a fiberglass repair kit, you can get them from a auto store. I got mine from NAPA because I live across the street from it. Pour so resin in the tray throw a few drops of the harder in it then cut small pieces of fiberglass into the mixture as thin as you can get them. Mix it all up. Then paint them onto the damage and make sure you try and get the mixture as deep into the damage as possible. Let it dry sand and paint, should be just like new. I did the same damage to mine along with a whole lot of other damage since the area damaged doesn't hit the water it shouldn't cause in issue in performance. As far as the steering issue move the servo rod up 1 hole (top) on the steering arm. You will have to open the hole up a little to get the rod to fit. This will allow more turning radius. Also make sure you have the servo gain on the radio turned up for full travel. Remember the boat turns better to the right. Also most of your questions on this boat should be found in the Aquacraft section of this forum.

You cut small parts of fiberglass + epoxy and you sand I did that on my HOTR cat

Hard to tell but it looks like the rudder rod where it screws into the clevis is hitting against the servo horn. May need to cut off a little of the threaded section if it is hitting the servo horn. Does it look that way to anyone else?
