    Eagle Tree setup

I've been round and round with this and it seems every time I go to buy one, something else comes up.

I'm still not really sure what setup I should get, what parts work together, etc.

I looked at the Seagull, and that seems like a good setup, but don't want all the parts, pieces and distractions... So basically something to log amps/rpm & temp in a twin cat...

    Suggestions?

    Here ya go:

    http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...PRV3-LEADS-150
    Base unit for amps, volts

    http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...rod=etr-GPS-v4
    For speed

    http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...tr-rpm-kit-brs
Can only use one RPM sensor- but I would think if you know one you would know the other.

    http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...etr-temp-micro
You can use upto 3 of these total.

Just to note I have the base unit and the GPS only. I intend to get the rpm and use plugs so I can use it in my various boats. I have not been concerned with temps yet, but I might get one for each boat to keep track of motor temps.

Isn't there a setup that uses the hall effects sensor for amps rather than an inline?

          What about Tx/Rx with telemetry?

Volts/Temp/Amps & logging right on the Tx?

              Here ya go:

I use one of these, they are really good.

EagleTree makes one that does this type of stuff called Seagull or something like that. It's pretty expensive..

Have you used it in a boat? The transmitter antenna would be a problem. There is a different antenna that might work for a bought though...extra cost.

Yeah, I looked at the Seagull. I don't want all the extra stuff.

I'd really like something simple that works with the tx/rx. No extra antenna's etc.

                    I have used :
                    Eagle Tree and the Quantum

If you want to log something to look at later and you don't want the antenna then go with the eagle tree. Get the LCD readout board, the V2 150amp logger, and the gps and maybe one or two temp. wires andyou are good to go. You can then see the results right when you run and also later on your PC.

The nice thing it is is all very small and pretty straight foward to work with.

If you want it built in you can look at the spektrum radio's which have built in telemetry. I looked into it and it is very limited for boats. You really can only get temps and maybe be rpm's. The speed works only for cars and the voltage is only for the receiver, pretty disappointing.

Ah! Spektrum. I think I know who to consult on this one.... Paging Andy K...

I would really like an all in one der... Data Logging w/Amps, Temps, GPS, RPM etc. and realtime on the Tx.

Isn't the new marine version of the Castle Ice going to do most of what you are after? I think it will do all but GPS.

                            FighterCat57,

Here is how i have my eagle tree system set up in my twin Simrad cat.
I have a logger for each side .
The power panel is very handy for prop setups. Easy to read.
I also have 2 heat probes for the lipos and the GPS expander.

Takes a little time to set up, but is worth every cent i payed.
                            The system works very well.
