I've finally found two ESCs that are working for me with a Scorpion 4025-800 on 8s. I have had five different ESC's fail on me this season until I got these two =. They are the ETTI 200 HV and the Swordfish 240 HV. They both run cool and so far have not given any problems. I am grateful.

Okay i got my 120amp SeaKing esc today. First thing out of the pack disconnected the BEC!. Looked at the cooling plate everything looks like its touching the frets good. Soldered 4mm bullets batt and motor side. Tested with 2x 2s1p 2200mah 30c packs everything programmed and armed! So far so good. Okay i want to check one last time before i set into the water tomorrow. Using a Feigao 7xl with stock 1.6 x 2.5 prop for now (waiting on s/b/p x642). I just want one last person to tell me its gonna work lol. I hope the amp draw is not over 120 continuous!

Get rid of those Crappy 4mm connectors! Those will melt off on that setup, trust me!

I would be propping at a 440 at the largest with that motor& lipo.

That was a hot setup on Nimh!

When I had the motor, a Aquastar 120 (swordfish) worked well for me. It's a pretty hot set-up so don't get to crazy with the props. That motor likes smaller props. Small props allow the motor to really wind out. I my ul-1 the 7xl LOVED a x440/3. Your on the edge of the esc's continous rating, a x642 maybe to much pitch. I ran a L40x57 and it ran OK, but better on the x440/4.

so i need a smaller prop period? Good lol i need to start buying props any how. Thanks for the motor diesel. Everything seems to still be in fantastic condition! Well i was gonna go test tomoro but i think im going to hunt down a few props first!. Any way i can run it on a single 3s1p pack okay? Just for s.a.g? ( **** and giggles) Or am i in more of the 2x2s1p era of power here? Just trying to figure out what i can do to test it tomorrow with out burning everything up.

No problem. Yes you could use 3s on that. It would give you right around 26k unloaded RPM which is perfect for some fun runs. Higher KV motors like smaller props, they really like to wind out. A x642 may work, but I would start smaller. Like a grim 40x52/3 or a x440 2 blade or 3 blade. Which hull is this going in again?

Right now its all in a BJ hull. Trying to decide if i want to put it all in a 24 inch abs hull and add some wings. Lol brings new meaning to "Air Boats" Right now im not to sure tho i want a good prop so i don't burn anything else up. I think im going to try it tomorrow on a single 3s pack and see how it does. just for s.a.g. Whats so bad about 4mm connectors? Ive seen more power dumped through less and have no bad experiences yet. I think its all in the solder you use and the amount of time and care spent soldering things together!. I cannot solder so it takes me an hour to do anything and make it look good. Anything done any faster results in blacktape and heat shrink. lol Not to mention i have to re solder everything like 8 times lol solder un solder get mad solder again so on so forth. lol

It would be wicked fast in a 24 boat like a 24" hydro would be sick. As far as a BJ it may work im not sure. Try 3s and the stock prop. Run a few laps and check the temps. The 7xl is gonna pull a good bit of amps so the smaller plugs don't do well with the current and heat up pretty good which can lead to de-soldering or a failure. You may not have issues in the past because you may not have been pulling higher amps. I use 5.5s on everything. Thats just me. As long as you keep everything reasonable you shouldn't have an issue with the 7xl and a 120 esc. I never did.

Awesome. Im gonna go this week and try to get a few x442 props and some 5.5 connectors. I have to get my pos truck fixed first. Damn head gaskets! Also a result of running hot! Nothing likes heat i sware! Ive been thinking of making a ballast box that i can velcro in the hull and freeze water in it then let the water from the pickups flow into the ballast box then to the esc and motor i wonder what that would do besides add weight and hopefully help cool everything faster? Winters coming up Im pretty sure it dont freeze all winter in NC like it does here but the colder water conditions should help ALOT! Thats where the thought of a icecube ballast box comes in. Ill update when i try it.

Yea grab a x440 and maybe a x640. Good props to have in the prop box. I have both the x440 2 blade and 4 blade versions.
