Hi everyone, Along with my 1/8th U-787 hydro that I will be starting pretty soon, I will be building a small hydro as well. It will be based on the Garry Finlay's 1/13th scale hydro. AKA "1980 Atlas Van Lines".
I have 4 questions regarding the hardware selection.
1) How long should the rudder be?
2) How long should the turn fin be?
The plans look like they are on the small side.
3) Does the motor have to be cut into the hull bottom or can it be mounted fully inside with no hull bottom interruption. This will raise the COG but will it matter much?
4) Does the strut have to be at an angle or can it be parallel to the water/bottom?
Any tips or suggestions on building this hull will also be appreciated.
