1527 1.5d or 1717?

Which is more suitable for a 40" mono?

I have both now and might just sell off the Neu 1527 if the 1717 will work well. I just don't know anything about the 1717's.

Thoughts?

I'm thinking about putting one in an Osprey w/Hydra 240 LV on 6s... It's one of the two for sure.

The 1717 is rated as a 120A motor by castle. I would think the 1527's would be a more powerful motor.

I still haven't seen the full specs on the 1717

Kershaw Designs lists the 1717 as "approx 2600 watts", i still think its more along the lines of a Neu 1524

Very interesting about the 1717 having more torque. These might work nice in an 1/8th scale hydro. Glad I have two on the way to try out! Are these good on 6s, or is 5s better? Mike

Thats not the same 1717 we have been ordering with this latest frenzy. The 1500kv is a slightly different motor then the 1580kv. Its not far off in Kv but there is nothing noting what those differences are. The 1500kv has cooling holes for Heli applications and 2 sides have the ribbing milled out for mounting. The holes and the milled surfaces would not account for the difference in Kv.

I would not use the Hydra 240 LV on 6s it cant take it, a lot of people have fried this controller on this voltage.

I will admit I have used my 240 LV twice on 6s in my whiplash 40 with a 1527 1.5d and have gotten away with it those two times I will not be doing it again, I don't want to kill the controller.
