    Prop advice

Looking to pickup a balanced and sharpened prop.

25" HOTR mono, 3660 3000Kv motor, 4mm stinger drive, wire drive, 3S 2200 in parallel.

    I also have a 380XL (2868) 2898Kv motor.

    May swap in a 4074 2000Kv Leopard.

I have been running a 42 dia prop without much pitch. Its plastic and Im rounding/jumping the drive dogs (thats with previous motor).

Here is the prop I have been using (went thru 3 of them now):

Here is a video of it with that prop before destroying it.

    Nobody?

    Im thinking of an X442?

Sound good or to big? I intend on buying a sharpened balanced prop as I dont have the skill to do it myself. Ideally I would like to buy just one of course. I know there has to be people out there that have used this hull with similar power and should know.

    Please help :)

I would try some graupner k series props ... Maybe a k40 and k42... Carbon k series graupner props seem to work good on smaller boats and are $6 and steve had em... Will help you figure out what size prop you need... A x440 or x442 sound close though... Those Chinese props stink IMO as they flex out of shape terribly and go nowhere... At least when I used to try tem a long time ago...

I would go with a 440 max. At 3000kv your looking at 32000 unloaded rpm on 3s which is about right. But I cant help but think that motor is pulling a lot of amps already. Remember a shorter motor with a high kv will have less torque. With a 440 or even a 437/3blade you may get the same speed as the 442 because the motor will be allowed to reach closer to its maximum rpm without building as much heat as with the 442. JMO

          Mine liked a x637 when it had a 540 8l on 3s.

I agree with jmscard, get a few cheap carbon props to test with. When you get it dialed, then spend some $$$ for a good metal prop!

              Thanks guys.

Im gonna look into the X437 and X440 3 blades.

I will also look at those graupner ones also, for $6 why not.

Please do. My 25" Mono is the largest boat I own out of 3.

I figured I can at least check up on any "balanced" prop I buy.

I was looking at the ebay HK seller, but scared of his no name props...

Here is a assortment for you... one is a 937/3 ocutura (there are two of these 937/3's in the pic), and a m440 both balanced and sharpened, there are two sv27 plastic props.... a 42 and a 45mm carbon prop, not graupner though...

The seperate picture is a x437/3 B&S that some here recommended....

let me know if some or all of these interest you... oh and none of the props have any damage or dings... they have been sitting in a prop box and you could easily polish up is so desired
