I am working on the same hull with a leopard 5692(1340kv) on 6s lipo, and starting with an X452 prop. That boat comes with a 440 prop stock. Waaaay too small for that big of a hull.

A castle 1717 might have enough power. You can get one cheap right now.

1717 would have gobs of torque for sure in that hull running on 5-6S. On 5s one would be able to prop up nicely.

Its one of the many Delta Force copy hulls that are around, So is one of the best deep v monos around. Ive also got one that im going to put a Leopard 5692 motor in, Not sure yet if im going with the 1340kv on 6s or possibly the 1090 kv on 8s. If you decide to get one run it as it is & have a bit of fun with it & upgrade when you can. Martin.

If you do run it stock, your gonna have to get a 45-47mm prop minimum just to get it to plane. Then things are gonna heat up quickly. Stock motor and speed control are good quality, just not made for a 40-inch hull. I'd sell the stock parts right away and put the $$$ towards bigger power. Good luck!!
