    newbie question

I'm a big scale RC Car racer and this summer I started to play in the sea with a chinese mini deep vee. I'm new to boats but not new to the the RC world.
I'm looking for a boat with these characteristics:
-mono hull lenght 650-850mm without receiver and radio as I'm going to use mine. If possible with motor, servo, ESC and ardware installed.
    -can handle rough water
-self straightening with off center weights or flood chamber
What do you suggest to look for?
until now I have seen the following boats that could be right for my desires:

ToysPort Syncron but I don't know if it likes rough water

AeroMarine Challenger ... anybody made it self straightening?

Super Vee 27 ... anybody made it self straightening?

Aeromarine mini xXx brushless cigarette racer:

What is this? Can be bought somewhere?

What about the boats on hobby king:

    JollyMotor V-Hull Brushless R/C Racing Boat (620mm):

    Pursuit Brushless V-Hull R/C Boat (820mm):

    Osprey Brushless V-Hull R/C Boat (1075mm):

    Ciao e benvenuto!

that mini X is mine... This can be purchased from Aeromarine ($160 bare hull - very strong with CF mat!!!), pm me and I will give you their email. I had to call in - Remy likes to do it this way. Funny you want self-righting and you picked this hull - it is almost that way as it is, very stable and rolls back over if flipped (most of the time) - but very narrow and barely enough room for gear. Not impossible though.

The Challenger is pretty wide for self-righting, but who knows. I have seen a supervee with an operating flood chamber, and lord knows you are on your back a lot with that hull. Don't know on the others.

    Glad you liked the video!

In che parte d'italia sei? Ho importato la mia moglie di Parma - e' qua con me adesso.

      Ciao, grazie del benvenuto.

That video makes me crazy .... I love that boat.
What's the size and of that boat and what motor/ESC are you using?
If one day you decide to sell it let me know. I'm sending to you my e-mail in PM.

Is this one the boat you have?

      Cause the price is higher.

      Ciao, Simone.

Nope, that's the big brother. Email sent - like I said, Remy (the owner) doesn't publicize it because it was designed and built to be set on the fireplaces of big executives that own boats like that for real. It is almost 27" long and 6" wide. Here is build thread. More than enough info. I run her on 3S2P in rough water (the vid you posted and others) and on 4S she is just about as fast as this hull should go (mid to upper 30s).

In mine, I have a feigao 14L (similar to the Black Jack ~ 1600 KV) and run a 642 prop (I think). I have a set of hardware that I used for it I would sell you for cheap (I got it for another cigarette but won't be using it after all). I put in a Traxxas micro servo - works wonders. You need trim tabs too or the thing bounces around like a hen pecking corn.

If you like, I can see what I would have to do to convince my wife to bring it back for you - and some hardware (might be able to install it if interested). If she isn't gonna be able to fit it in, I might be able to make you one and ship it to you (might take a while). And then there is la posta italiana -- not the most reliable in the world.

What about Aeromarine Titan 29" and Aeromarine Titan 33"? How are them in rough water?

Absolutely awesome! the 29 is great for lower power options (like BlackJack motor) whereas the 33 is a bit more of a beast, but both do great in rough water.

I sent you an email with a package deal for hardware, and electronics, for the Mini X. see what you think.

                Watching this video

                compared with the one above

I have the impression that the mini xxx runs better in rough water.
                Is it only my impression?

First off how much cash do you have, what existing radio and RX, as you may be in for a disaster with any boat choice....rough water...long deep V hulls.

My cash is around $350-400 USD without Lipos.
I want to play with the boat in the sea when the water is calm but some little chops are always there.
My radio is a Futaba 3VC that I use with spektrum module/receiver with my cars and with 3Ch PCM 1024 reveiver in the chinese mini deep vee boat that I have now.
I guess the disaster you are talking about is when the boat goes down like a submarine and the fail safe do not shut off the motor .... isn't it? Do not ask me why I know that.

                      hardware for mini X

Douggie has a point, there are limits to all hulls and open sea is a big place. Main thing is just don't run in too big of waves and have a rescue method on hand.

If you go the Mini X route, here is some of the package of hardware I listed off in the email. I will be including an extension for the rudder bracket to it is out even with the prop. A trick in this hull is mounting the servo... I added a little CF plate to mine and siliconed the servo to that. I could make you a little plate and attach it to the motor mount if you want, or just include it and let you put it together.

Just to put it all in one place, here is the list with prices I had emailed you:

                      strut/rudder ----------------------------------$40
flex line and drive dog: --------------------$15 (brand new .150) not pictured
                      Traxxas micro servo: -----------------------$20
                      Motor mount: --------------------------------$10
                      Water intake/outflow fittings: ------------$5
Unused motor with new Kintec racing slim cooling jacket (brand new Ammo 3650 - 2300KV): $50

Cost to you: $135 w/o ESC

free: cooling tubing, stuffing tube, teflon liner, trim tab/turn fin combo (cheapies), plastic prop or two, .078" wire for servo linkage, rubber boot for servo rod exit, motor coupler, some flotation, and other odds and ends you may need to finish the build.

lemme know if you want more pics or what you decide. My wife leaves for Italy 12 Oct and can bring this stuff with her. She is probably not going to be able to bring you a hull. This hardware will work on boats 22" to 27" (55 - 70 cm).

I would see a pic of it and the pro that fits too. The link would be same.

The rough water I mean is plus or minus what I see in your's videos.

The Titan can handle a little rougher water I would reckon.
