Think about how much weight you will put in the boat. Lipos are heavy relative to the hull weight and affect everything.

Multiply each number by "S" times 3.7 (max 4.2)
Then take that number and multiply it by the KV (RPM's per volt)

That number is your theoretical RPM.

      8s 1600kv is 47k rpm.

Just my point of view but...
40k is radical and usually doesn't end well.
35k is a high rpm setup
      30k is ripping
      25k is fun

8s probably about 1100kv or less IMO

OK, so 6s, with 2 in series should work well.

..and 1300 to 1600kv will work in that setup too.

6s with that 180a ESC will put you in the 4000 watt range (max)

          Sounds like a cool setup.

            So with that equation, 6s on a 1600kv motor is 35,520rpm. And a 1300kv is 28,860 rpm. I'd say the 1600kv.

Since 6s = 25.2v fully charged.........you're looking at 40,320 unloaded and about 32,000 in the water. Better not throw a big prop on it or you may pop the 180a.

That would probably work well. The next question is prop size...

That's where I like to defer to the experts... and FE Calc.

I really liked how the hull moved with an m445. Might be a good start.

I used a m445 when I hit 53, but I like how the hull ran with the batts all the way full forward and with a cf45. Ran 48mph and super smooth. I wish I had video of that run
