FYI the Neu 15 series and the Leopard 40xx series are 40mm and can be installed in the stock motor mount with the addition of a 40mm tail ring.

      =)

I stuffed a 1527 in mine. I can hit 60+ but it tends to spiral flip itself out of the water. If I built another I would use a smaller motor and more rpm to reduce the prop size in hopes of increasing hull stability. Like a 1700kv on 6s w/m445... but that's theory and probably would last long at that RPM.

Fighter, is there enough room for a jacket as well for a 15 series with the stock mount?

          I use a vac-u-pickle mount with a 4074 in a skunk cat and it's a winner.

I remember that vid you posted before wake awesome. My motor had more in the tank, I just didn't have time or the want to dial in the hull. If I could have got the CG figured out and the hull dialed in I could have got higher then low 50s with mine. I only ran the boat twice tough and sold it lol...

What I did was use the stock mount and bought a second mount and used the stringers and tail ring. Using the stringers to move the tail ring back.

If you're bored, the thread is quite entertaining, it bounces all over the place.

That would be the max i would ever go with an XL...........i think 13 or 14XL would be better..........cooler running and a bit bigger prop.

Got another vid of my Buddies Genesis............man, this thing is stupid fast. He rolled it in the first turn, but stayed upright, then went to tearing up the track. 54.5 mph verified GPS, and he's still got room.

I'm still not sold on a xl motor in this boat. I think it's just too big... I gps'd 53mph on mine with a 580 on a m445.

For decent speeds and a dollar conscious, quality, "bulletproof" setup, i still think the Leopard 4074 is enough. Although the big Neu in my buddies sure looks fun!
