    Water tube connection issue

For water cooling connections that are not barbed, what's the best way to secure them? It feels snug. I didn't really want to drop down to "lighter" tubing but I might have to. Or should I junk the water jacket and get one with barbs?

Darn thing was a re-maiden after a motor upgrade and I almost sunk my rig! Doh.

On my brass lines I take a flare tool and flare the end a little. If you don't have one just take a small screw driver or Allen wrench and slightly flare the end a little. Zip ties also work well or both.

Damn, I actually have a flare tool - I just didn't think to use it. Then the zip tie will have something to hold on to. Thanks a million guys. That will be reliable.

I use short pieces of tubing stretched over the end of the lines. It makes for a pretty secure connection. See pic.

I take a slice off of the tubing about 1/8 of an inch thick or so and strech it with a pair of needlle nose pliers and slip it over the water line. Then slip the waterline over the fitting. The small slice of tube acts as a clamp. Kind of hard to explain but it works great.

We got the point across, that's what counts.
