    440-2 vs 440-3 prop

What would be the advantage of either or? HOR 32" boat. 1521 1y on 6s. Is this a good prop to start with or should i go a different route? 3 blade props look wicked IMO buttt if a 2 blade works better I'll run one of those.

ps, yes I am going to build my boat now haha. Anywhere to buy carbon motor mount rails?

personally thats to much RPM, and hard on esc's, drop to 5s and run a 45mm prop on that size of hull. to be honest I would drop to 4s2p and put a big prop on it 47-48mm or larger. the 1521 size motors can swing some decent size props. 26,000 to 30,000rpm is good target rpm to start with.

hmmm Im getting mixed opinions... I have been told to run a x440 2 blade and that would be my best bet?

It might be a good prop on 6s
But i would drop to 4s2p like jeepers said, and run a larger prop.

that motor is capable of pushing a boat in to the 60's. but it all depends on how well you have the hull set up. a 1521 1y on 4s with the right prop is more than most hulls can handle, torque roll becomes an issue due to the larger prop. 5s is a good choice as well, it ups the rpm's and you wont have use such a large prop.
The high rpm that motor would be seeing on 6s would make prop selection VERY critical and may not be the most efficient prop for that size of hull.

The 1521 1y on 6s is a perfect combo. Used by many to race in mono hydro and cat. The nomal prop is a 447 3 blade or the 450 3 blade. In 2 blade can run as big as 55mm. This combo would be way to much power for a 32inch cat. Works well in the H&M maritmos in my pisture gallery. The 1521 1y ia a pig on 4s and needs a to large prop to work(55 and bigger). On 6s it will be more forgiving and draw less amps than 4s. I use 3 of these as my 6s motors all the time. The 1.5d is a better choice for 4s2p.

nice race set ups! I tend to be mild in set up recommendations especially when the op has not said if he is racing, that and the fact he has a 32" cat. a 1521 is a strong motor!

this might not be relevant to a 32 cat. i run a DF33 with a1521 1y and on 4s anything less then a x645 only seem to "tick" the motor off, almost like its bored.
and on 6s that motor is a beast.
dont know what exsperiance you have lsone but unless you used to FAST boats you better off using that motor on 4 or 5s.
                    just mr €0.2

Forgot to mention this is in a 32" HOR mono.

I do not plan on racing the boat, but like anything I own, I like fast. haha

I got this boat when I had an itch to buy another one for the hell of it, 5-6 years ago I had a cat that ran on who the hell knows how many ni-cd cells. uggh. Was fast but nothing like these days. Sooo I'll rock this hull till its hurt or until I find a deal on something I like. I am going to lay the hull up with carbon fiber cloth to strengthen it some more.

I run a x445 on 6s with a 1521 1y in my df33.... seems to be a good setup... a m445 works well to of course... both get me almost 60mph...

On 4s its more for just cruising.... I use a x450 and it toots around at low 40s..... not to my liking.... I like the 6s route and the 45mm prop like said here before....
