    Miss Geico Hull Only Review

Went and got my new hull from my LHS, Thank you Curtis!

Finish is very nice. Concerned how the decals will hold up with no clear over them so we shall see.

All servo mounts, motor screws for the mount are there but no motor mount...of course not and I did not expect it. I was planning a Leopard 4074, 2200KV in it but may just go with a hot 540 motor and 4S...8 or 9XL. Leopard may fit okay but it will have to have support under the rear of the motor.

Everything is very well epoxied in the hull. I did order the strut and rudder as the site showed even after I called sales at Horizon and the bag says strut and rudder but I got the rudder only...easy fix with another call as Horizon is excellent to work with.

I have a shot of the rear pad having the dip. The other pads seem fine...just the rear and then it is bascially in the middle and not at the very end of the sponson.

All in all I am very impressed and it will not take much to finish this.

    Great job, Horizon gang!

If it were me, I'd run an offset rudder on it since you have the choice. Should be more stable at high speed.

      Thanks Jeff, nice.

Are you going to use the PB motor mount or your own ideas?

I hope one of the orange aluminum water cooled motor mounts I have will fit under the canopy?

Jeff did the holes on that come pre-drilled? Prior to getting the boat on the water i was thinking of a leopard 4068 1800kv on 4s/5s. As of right now I will stay stock on 4s/5s. Don't have the funds to put into her, place I like it on stock as of right now. I like the offset rudder idea. Thought about it on mine until I seen how it handled in both directions.

Everything came as you see it out of the box. I was surprised the decals and all the guts were in it. Really makes it worth the $ like this.

I will see how it runs without doing anything to the pads. I really do not thing this is the handling issue but flat is the right way. I agree, with corning like this I do not care about the rudder being offset. Maybe if I raced it but that won't happen.

I will get a stock mount or make one similar to fit the Leopard motor. Should be easy with a piece of alum angle.

Was also condisering an outrunner on 6S for this but I think 4-5 S on a XL motor will be plenty for this hull.

Yes it really makes it a GREAT value the way it comes. Maybe I need a second Geico one stock one modded. I need to hit the lottery, to many things i need/want lol.

absolutely added value with having the hull come like this...i really wish more manufacturers would do this..i would pay extra for this..i do enjoy building but sometimes having some things installed makes it better

100%, with the hull coming in this form for the price is great. Also the BND Stiletto is a great thing. I am looking forward to seeing more BND FE boats in the future. Proboat has really stepped their game up, awesome job guys!!!

For fun I'll run some outrunners, for racing a UL-1 motor or maybe just the BJ motor since I have loads of stuff.

Mine "ships" tomorrow hopefully.... err today...

I was thinking a outrunner as well on 6S. The turnigy 500 1800 KV. Seems they make some serious power with big props.

                              Hello friends,

Being international (Manila), I try to shy away from buying boats in the US due to the high shipping cost and just be contend with offerings from nearby countries like Hobby King. However, I've been eyeing this Proboat Geico hull for many months now. I like its lines, shape and enjoy watching the videos in youtube.
I normally run V-hulls, but recently had a chance to run a 24" HK Surge Crusher cat and enjoyed it! It basically made me think more about the Miss Geico being 6" longer and 3" wider if my enjoyment will be heightened.
I would be canvassing for Geico hulls only - as I have already some motors, esc and running hardware that I can use for the hull if ever. Seeing this review helped a lot so thank you!
