    Prep for a race

I'm having my first race on 10-14-07 & 10-15-07. It's only a friendly race on a pro lake. I'm sitting here trying to get the Renegade rigger & Shockwave Jet ready.

I just thought... "What would it do to put light oil on the prop blades?"
Also, are there any last minute tricks that you guys are willing to share?

What do you guys normally do in prep for a race?

    Thanks

gather all the stuff you would normally take, check your consumibles(paper towels , hatch tape etc.) and replenish if needed. charge your packs the night before. load all of the above into your transportation the night before. try and get a good nights sleep. right before the race(s) double check BEFORE you plug your packs in that you are indeed connecting them properly, and that your radio is set for the right model(boat). I've seen folks make co$tly misteaks because they were tired/brain fried from heat.
Still waiting for my boat to come in.it came in

make a check list of what you bring and things to be done, at least you won't forget anything of the list next race :D , I've always done this when I was flying my 100" plane and never forgot anything or even broke something

BTW put wax or RainX on the hull it'll improve slippery

            Race Day:
About 30 min before the start of the race, take about a half a xanax. LOL
Unless your using Spectrum, wear a ball cap so you don't beat up your forehead with the antenna.
Since it's your first race don't try to be first, try to relax and just concentrate on finishing.
            FIND YOURSELF A GOOD PITMAN!!!!
A "GOOD" (racer) pitman will make all the difference in the world to you. He'll keep you informed on where you are in the race and help you hone your driving skills.
" dead boat turn.......", "go wide", "tighten it up", "better close the door", "he's coming", My favorite (I don't hear it enough) "Back off a little, there's nobody near you" Then there's, "Oh man that sucks, that race was yours!"LOL
You'll make mistakes , we all do, but each time you'll get better and better.

Don't put too much pressure on yourself and remember, you are there to have fun.
            Good luck at the races!!!!
