    50" Vee Bottom 24 deg

The boat is light layup fiberglass 50" long 12" wide. The hull is 24 deg. with two steps. I have attached a picture.
This is new build and am starting from scratch. I want a twin electric motor, twin propeller, a center rudder. I am not looking to race the boat to get started but to use. I need moderate speed and longevity of batteries.
I need the build to move quickly and wondering if anyone has a baseline set up for me to get moving. Something like a RTR parts list build sheet.
If any other specs are needed please let me know.

Some of the issues you are going to face doing a twin prop mono are; correct prop depth, correct prop angle, motor loading/unloading, hardware adaption, monetary expense. And these are the obvious ones, I know this has been attempted before but I have never followed up on its success, but I am sure there are more problems to making it work right.

Just my 2 cents, but is there some driving reason you want a twin mono? Welcome to OSE and good luck with the build.

Is this your first build with a Electric boat? Listen to John's advice. Doing a twin screw on a BIG hull is going to take quite a budget specially with 2 motors, 2 esc and 2 sets of batteries alone to start with. And we're not sure if you have lipo chargers/power supply and balancer on hand??. There are few big builds, I strongly suggest giving us more info about your background and experience with FE boats first. Then search this forum for the Delta Force Sniper build. Those are some of the big builds on this forum but using single screws, with big motors and esc and big batteries.

Sorry for my delay. I am currently starting a yacht service and marine care business in SW Florida and seems to devour my time. In my spare I am finishing up a aftermarket turbo kit set up for Kawasaki sportbikes, building this R/C boat for business marketing and personal interest and have worked at nor-tech boats for 5 yrs. I am capable but yes this is my first electric R/C rig.

I appreciate this being a knowledgeable and active post. I am running blind here and will need this to be a crash course build. Any comments are welcome.

After reading your responds I am just going to say lets stay with a single engine.
Now that is known where do I start with a run down on a parts list

How many dollars do you wanna spend will let us all know what to give you for an answer.... if you want to spend $800 on a power system (batts/motor/esc) we may advise you towards a:

Little screamer 63mm outrunner with a turnigy monster esc and trunigy lipos...

or if you are ready to spend $2000 on the power system these boys will probably tell you to go the Neu 2230, schulze esc, Hyperion G3 lipo route.....

So first off is there a budget? knowing you are employed by Nor tech, you can probably go with the 2nd route? LOL.....

anyway my buddy has a 40" fountain currently and has been looking at Nor techs new "small" cats..... they are sick!! I cant believe some of those boats are good for 160 plus mph being so small.... must feel like you are freaking flying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I appretiate the interest in Nor Tech. I have rigged the past 200 cats Nor Tech has put out the doors and has became part of my job every month to push these 40-50 foot cats from speeds of 120-198 mph pistion and turbine powered boats. So yes there is a cool factor. And yes at 150 mph and up it feels like your flying.

I will be going with a moderate build on the 50" hull for the first one and have a budget of around 1000$ for the power system. I am looking for decent performance set up and decent run time. This will be a play boat with water cooled motors.

I also need specs whether i will need trim tabs, side fins, and what rudder and drive.

$1000... I would go with a leopard 5692 1090kv motor.with the new water jackets steve sells...and a castle ICE 200 amp esc.... and 40c 5000mah turingy 4s 5000mah batts in series and parrallel.... so 8s2p for a total of 10000mah..... all this can be done in your budget... the twin setup cannot logically be done... and honestly not that you don't have the abilility but for a first Fast electric boat a twin engine this size is probably gonna make you and your wallet hurt.... plus a R/C mono handles better with a single drive...

you could go this route or a little screamers outurnner 650kv with a swordfish 240hv esc and go 12s2p with (4) 6s 5000 mah turnigy 40c batts as well...

just what I would do with you budget.... not the only options....

Kip, welcome aboard & good luck with the build ! Quite an ambitious first-time project. If you don't mind, can you tell us what mfgr. the hull is from ? Also, an inside shot with the hatch off? Bottom picture as well ?

                      Thanks,

I am a man with motive and when my mind is put to a project I do it right the first time, I don't have the time for a second shot.
I am a student at Westlawn Institute of Marine Technology and have used my knowledge to design a efficent, hydrostaticly sound, stable stepped Vee. I have designed the boat and will be mfgr it as well. I will have pictures up soon.

Still curious as to what other hardware is prefered to be used for my setup

Appretiate the help and creativity is always welcome that is what we are here for.

                          Kip,

For a hull that size, you will want to use 1/4" flexshaft. There are many varied hardware out there, you can start by looking at what OSE has to offer first. You can also check out Head of the River rc specialist as they also carry hardware (stingers, rudders etc) but they are out of Continent. RCMK in Korea. I will link you a few European dealers as well if you like?
