    Motor/Temperature/Run time question

    Hi all -

I new into FE boats and I'm hoping you guys could educate me a bit. I'm trying learn how to best pick a motor that will not only work in my current setup, but also in future setups. So, my question is...

Is there a way to calculate (in advance) motor temperatures & avg run times?

Lets assume all variables are constant which are: 30" Cat, Octura x442 (s&b), 4s 40C Lipos, Castle 125 ESC, trimmed properly, & running full throttle.

Given this setup, how would I calculate the differences between the NEU 1515 vs. 1521 (regarding motor temps & run times)?

Thanks for helping me on this...
    Sak...

This is an extremely informative site with los ofpeople who can help you. I found an excellent discussion of motor/prop/ESC/hull/mattery selection in the Fast Electric tips forum. I'm fairly new here and not sure if I've got the link thing right but spend some time in that forum and you'll probably find your answer. Chances are that someone else will jump in to help you out in short order.

I would keep it simple and affordable. The new Aquacraft 1800kv motor and UL-1 esc should work well without burning up your hull. Change out those cheap motor/esc connectors for some beafier bullets.
