    RTR boats

I have been critical of these boats, but there are some very interesting new hull designs. When did I start in this hobby... homebuilt rubbish at the age of 6. I then went to true scale boats and believe me that is a labour of love. I then returned to fast boats and the electric advances intrigued me, NIMH, NICD....spent a lot of cash on chargers, lathes, etc.
The RTR hulls of a few years ago were OK but not great....You young turks are very lucky that some seasoned individuals have developed this hobby to where it is today and to the founders and Yes I did buy a new tunnel hul RTR.

This is the only truth in the above post.
Oh and Doby I here you failed the IQ test, how can you fail an IQ test? So stupid as not to make the chart your brain surgeon stated.
Yes this is a personal attack and I fully expect an infringement from DaWogBoy

          Timeline

At one point there were a bunch of MidWest racers, not sure how many there are now. The rules change from week to week and I have no idea on some of them.

So, I just go to the lake with the family

Thanks to Ed Hughey who started FE It was simple than, hard to go fast but fun.

I was going to let the SOFT comment slip by, but after review that was a TYPICAL RESPONSE FROM THE BOTTOM FEEDERS IN ONTARIO...I am now off to my doc to rediscover my HARD self.

Edit...just back from the Doc...."no more Prozac for you laddie"...sage words indeed

Douggie I think we all know you like RTR because every boat you have built is a flop

                RTR's

I have to agree that RTR and ARTR boats are a great place to start. I am into RC cars and planes also, and after getting a Mini Cat Starship to run as my first boat, it was easy. I have read and been told "build your own first to learn the ins-and-outs first" or "start with a slower simpler boat to learn on." Well I jumped right into a Starship and can't stop smiling. It was easy to setup and easy to drive and best of all it's easy to hop-up. There's not much to adjust on it to make it run well which is ideal. Also that's it's small makes it more attractive to just grab it and go have fun. I liked it so much I got another one but it's the Mini Cat Hydro. Once again not disappointed. It's ready to run, not pricey as others and runs great right out of the box. I'm set on RTR's!

I think the quality has gone way up in all forms of RTR's over the years. I still fly planes that I puilt from scratch over 20 years ago, now some of the RTR planes are pretty nice. Nobody really builds there own any more, and their so cheap. My kids have a slash, and a blitz. Those come RTR, and were cheaper than the old rc cars I used to race, and I had to put them together! I still prefer to build my own!
