spekrtum question

I have a Spekrtum sm1000 in my M-8 radio the rx is a SR3000 can I use a Spektrum MR3000?? with it

Young dude.. I would change out the radio for a DRX3S or another Spektrum tx with the marine symbol.

Douggie I still have some AM radios lol I know nothing about spektrum or any 2.4 Can I use the MR3000 RX with my SM1000 TX:confused1 the ones I have now are SR3000 they have the same number lol: Douggie I have never sent a text AM was a no brainer

I am not aware of the RX you are referring about....all 2.4 Ghz systems are just that 2.4 Ghz and require their manufacturer Rx modules..a Futaba 2.4 Ghz Rx will not work with a Spektrum system and vice versa. The Spektrum marine Rx modules require a compatible Tx to function to their true capabilities.

OK, I'll answer this the best I can.

The MR-series RXs use a different programming and "form factor" than the other surface (SR-series) RXs. As such, they require a Spektrum transmitter that has the Marine logo on it to be compatible.

2.4 is simply the frequency range that these systems operate at. HOW the signals work is different for each radio manufacturer, and they are not simply cross-compatible.

Also, the Marine Spektrum TXs and RXs are "high-powered" form factors, just like the Spektrum Aircraft systems. The Surface (SR-series) systems are "low-powered". The TX, again, with the Marine logo on them have the capability of binding to the MR RXs, or the SR RXs. Other Surface radios (without the Marine logo), are low-powered only, and therefore, cannot.

You will note at the bottom of that page that the MR-series RXs are NOT compatible with any of the Spektrum surface modules. Different form factors and older technology.
