    40" Delta force knock off

Im in need of a little advise. I currently have a 40" mono with carbon fiber reinforcement, nue 1527-1y, Etti 150, 6s 2p 5000mah lipo, 52mm octura prop. All temps are fine, Im a little dissapointed with the speed. It prob runs 40-45 mph. I was hoping for mid 50s. I am wondering if I could run 8-10s and keep the reliability. I have no problem getting a Castle 240hv. I am concerned about the size of boat and motor. Any suggestions.

Actually you are running about perfect on 6S. If temps are nice and your in the mid 40's you should be happy. 8S should be considered the wall with a 1527 1Y. Thats a lot of rpms. No way 10S unless you like very, very short runs. Even a 1Y can go amp hog and you ruin batts/esc. Go 7S, prop down a tad, tune then bump back up. A 55 to 57mm prop is where you will likely end up at. Soon you will be in the 50's. Just my 2 cents.

You can maybe get by with a 1527/1.5y on 8s-10s with a good controller. Take the plunge with the rest of us and get a Leopard 5692/1090kv on 8s. The motor is similar in size to the Neu 2215's. I ordered a 5692/730kv to run 10s in an Insane Cat.....Time will tell.

I sure like the red better than my orange one! I run a Neu 2215 (1020kv) with a Swordfish 240HV and get low 60's with a x452 on 9s2p. The 1090kv Leopard that tth mentioned might be acheaper option. If you ever decide to get rid of the hull let me know. It looks great!

Fried my controller over the weekend on 7s. Very discouraged, I checked my temps, everthing looked good until it stopped. No smoke just wouldnt arm (and a little smell). Should I go back to 6s? I need to understand amps more because just checking temps is not helping my check book.

                  Hello

jerryk I just received a leopard 5692, can I use my cc 180hv or should i but a cc 240 hv
You should be fine with the CC180 Hv...Be carefull when propping...
The 1090kv from leopard is a 2Y winding, it should be less amp hog then the D (delta) winds.
Start with a 48mm prop and go up..check for heat, in motor, batts and speed controller after about 30 seconds running.

Regards, and later give an input how was the leopard with the CC 180Hv speed controller

Invest in a data logger , it will save you frying ESCs , when experimenting with different prop sizes/pitch . i couldnt belive the AMPs i was drawing with some of my setups..

I use the Hyperion data logger , cause it will log bursts of up to 300 AMPs , the Eagle tree is good to log up to 150 amps which was not enough for me , cause some of my boats are logging well over 200 amps.... The up side with the Eagle tree is you can get a GPS add on , the hyperion one does not have a gps add on.
