Twin motor question

how would these motors be in something like the HOR cat or would they be better suited in like the MHZ isiklar hull? i love the MHZ hull and it is probably my next purchase and if these would push it for a while id consider grabbing them unless they are complete junk. run on 6s per moter.

I have a pair of those motors in my big cat that is similar in size to a hotr.
Mine is 29" from bow to the rear of the ride pad.
I have them on 5S with K45 props and am slowly getting the settings right to make this a fast fun hull.

I've got a couple of the 2200kv versions that I run on 4s. A great motor for the price.
One thing though with these Heli type motors. The little cir-clip at the front bearing is in a very shallow groove, & it's taking all the thrust load of the prop. A thrust bearing between the flex coupler & the motor mount is essential in my opinion to take the load off that little cir-clip. As well as the front bearing.
These heli motors are designed for side load on the shaft not end thrust load.
But I'd like to thank whoever it was that came up with the idea of running them in a boat. I luv'em.

oh yes, a thrust bearing was a must, i think it should be run on any motor just as an extra support. but thats me. and i love the sounds of a twin outrunner for some reason. i was liking the lower kv, higher volt due to less amp load on the system. if i can get in the high 40s ill be happy, just something fun to mess with and look really cool. anyone ever run tripples on a cat before?

They've got heaps of power. I've got a couple of them too.
Here's Pete with one on 4s in a Drifter S. Two in a 32" cat would be pretty good.
Pete's also had a 645 prop swinging off it in that cat with no temp problems.
That's me dogging him in my 31" Arowana with a 9Xl on 4s.

wow that thing is moving! i think im going to go with those two on 4s, be cheaper since i woudnt need to buy new packs since my sv27 is running on 4s. Thanks for hte vid! gonna give it a shot. suggestion on esc on a budget? would the turnigy be a good choice?

Yes the 120 A would hold it pretty well.
The question is, can you fit a decent size prop under the overhangs of the cat.
A 642 is a good prop & I like the 440/3 blade on mine. But that's in a 25" Delta flop.
You will need water cooled mounting plates of course.
Found the vid when he had the X645 prop on it. Was going great 'till he hit the buoy & kicked the rudder up.
