I think there could have been a short maybe even something preventing the bell from spinning and so over heating everything... I have a 3026 and a 4035... not an issue with any...
I have not heard about the customer service, but check out RCgroups, they have a very active thread there... you may find your answer.:::::::::::::::. It's NEVER fast enough! .::::::::::::::: -

Hello!
Mine input goes to a short circuit between two phases of the motor, may be to much hot and the shrink tube srinked so much that opened up leading to a short circuit.
Are you within the limits of the motor?are you pulling to many amps?
Contact the vendor in order to get informations about warranty.

I've had a 3026 replaced. I contacted Scorpion and they put me in touch with Innov8tivedesigns.com. They will issue you a RMA and look over the motor, if its quality issue they will repair/replace or it's 1/2 price for a replacement no questions asked.Comment

yeh I had the same thing happen to mine.... mine was a 4035/800kv and the motor wires got hot and shorted together.... took everything out.... innovative warrranteed the motor.... I was very happy with their customer service no question!! I actually bought two more because of it!! they even took my castle connectors off my burnt motor and soldered it to my new one they sent me!! I had great luck with the warranty process....Comment

IME the Scorpion motors make for great sport motors but not so good for hard racing or high amp use. They will not compete with the Lehner or Neu motor performance, and trying to get them to do so can result in failures. While they say the magnets are good for 250F+ the wires/insulation are obviously not.
This is not a slam at Scorpion motors in any way. I have several and love them - for sport use. For spec racing they are great too, as the Classic Thunder scale unlimited racers have discovered. Just don't push these motors too hard.

well they shouldent for only 65$... the other side was not even warm. maby it was just a bad motor or maby the esc ? looked fine though.. all parts fail this was just way to fast.
in other runs the scorpions barley took anythin outta the packs i was suprised on how efficent they were in such a heavy boat haha. but seriously id be expecting approx 2k outt each pack and it would only put 7-800 in. ive only put in 1000 apiece a few times, and they were pretty long hard runsComment
