    sv27 1800kv motor question

was thinking of playing around with my sv27 running 2x3s lipos and putting a mamba monster esc to handle the load but is the motor able to handle this or no? I am using the grim 42x55 prop as well fyi

You are looking at upwards of 45,000 RPM... that's a little hot for anything but an all-out SAW boat... I'd stick with the 1800KV motor and 4S (2 x 2S)...

Incidently, Brian and I have been playing with the 1800KV motors (mine ProBoat, and his AquaCraft) in some of our P-Limited spec boats and there is something there... They definitely have the potential to be competitive. Comes down to the right prop and setup, as usual.

Im just looking for sport and play purposes not racing and you can make the mamba water resistant to a point with some corrossion x.I mainly just goof around with this boat near beaches but wanted some ballsy speeds kinda.I run 4s now just thinkin bout it.

NO... the new 1800KV AQ motor is built just like their 2030KV UL-1 motor, just a different KV... Looks and is built totally different, and frankly, WAY better quality, from what I've seen...

You can get the ProBoat Stiletto 1800KV motor at Horizon Hobby, but they aren't in stock yet.

You can get the AquaCraft SV27 1800KV motor at Tower Hobbies. Not sure if they are in stock yet, but am assuming they are.

We can get the 1800kv motor right here from OSE. I've got 2 of them now. http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...od=dh-aqug7002 I wanted the proboat 1800kv too but I'm not going to pay $98 for it that's what Horizon is selling them for. http://www.proboatmodels.com/Product...ProdID=PRB4017

I hope the Proboat motor ends up selling for less than $98 but if it ends up better than the AQ 1800kv's in my hydro I might have to suck it up...

Have no idea who sets the prices... but the samples I have are basically BJ motors that have a different wind in them. Haven't had one apart to see inside yet, but I will take one apart shortly to compare rotors, etc.

What about from the performance point of view?

If you are talking about the AQ vs. the PB motor... the jury is still out. Both seem capable, but more time is needed to know for sure.
