poss a 'dumb' question...what is the typical lap count(or aprox distance covered) for n2 offshore? tried checking the namba site and couldn't figure it out. tia

that particular thought had crossed my mind...trying to get my offshore boat set-up and don't know if I need to plan for 11 laps or 20(atm I'm reasonably sure it could do 17 on the 1/8 mile offshore offset course)

It's going to depend on the course... We ran the "modified M" course at the Nationals, with the offset center pin on the main straight, and an extended pin for turn 3 of the back straight (75-feet further down from the turn three pin)...
Brian ran this course with his N2-Offshore boat in 10 or 11-laps and set the new NAMBA record time of 212 seconds, or something like that...
I was able to get 8 laps or so with my Modified SV27...
I think the P-Mono records was something like 12 or 13-laps...
I'd be pretty amazed at ANYTHING that could do more than 12 or 13 laps around this course, but it was pretty long...

Q what size oval was it based on? anywho that gives me a yardstick to work with, thanks. don't have anyone here to run against, yet :).
The base oval was a regulation 1/8th mile... There was a pin laced about 10ft or so inside the start finish buoy as the offset buoy, and another placed 75-feet beyond the turn 3 pin to extend the back straight... It looked long...
Offshore is a BLAST to drive... I look forward to running it again!

ah, same size course that I'm on. figured it once, the 'ideal line' works out to just about 1/8 mile(as driven its longer). makes for a bit of speed on the back chute does't it :).
