Question about 380 motors and 22 volts

    Hi

is there a 380 size motor and esc that can be successfully run on 22volts and stay cool?
I ran 22v today and it was a lot of fun while it lasted.Smoke and fire....lol

I really want to avoid swapping out the motor mount to fit a bigger motor.
The hull is a 22" delta force hydro.
The guys at the pond today reckon it was doing about 60mph until she blew!
it also handled very well and was on rails.Lots of fun for 3 runs at 4 mins each.

If you could recommend a 380 motor and esc to run well on 22v i would be very grateful.
If this cant be done, will i get the speed with a bigger motor?

    Thanks in advance!

If the reviews mean anything, i guy ran this on 6s and said it was fine.........only 1700kv, so it seems very possible......$29 crapshoot.

NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

Why a 380? Run a 540L, or XL. That hull can handle it. I'd ditch the 380 idea. I take it since there was fire, you gotta get a new esc, maybe batteries? If true on both, and you're getting all new running gear.... go 4s with a suitable motor. 5408L, 540 8xl, sv motor, ul-1 motor. All of those will handle way more prop than a 380, and get you reliable top speeds.

        thanks for the fast replies!

i had a viking funeral in the boat and dont know whats salvageable yet...lol
It smells really bad and i'm going to wait a few days then tear it down.
        I lost the motor and 2 x 11v hyperion lipos(new).
I'm hoping the aquacraft 60amp esc is ok.
The thing was screaming around the pond and all the guys with gas boats could not believe how well she handled.

i would have to swap out the mount to go with a bigger motor, and thats why i'm thinking 380.
I will swap it if i have to though.

        Thanks again!

How would it run with a UL-1 motor and UL-1 esc?

I have these already to put in a 30" hydro.
Will it be really fast and still handle the corners/oval wot?
How much battery can i put through the UL-1 setup?

            cheers

Thr ul-1 setup would be perfect for that boat. Run it on 4s. It will be plenty fast without overworking anything.

So i listened to you guys and dropped a UL-1 motor in my 22" hydro.
It looks so funny sitting there in all its glory.lol
i'm not taking any chances with heat, so i am using a watercooled mount and a second pickup.
                    Also running a 120 esc and 2 x 2s in serial.

                    Thanks
                    Ian
