    Stuffing Tube Seal ?

Noticed yesterday with the hatch off and boat sitting still water was coming in to the hull through the stuffing tube. I have heard about using cooling tube between collet and tube. Any other ideas. Running Fuller's Mono Hardware gonna be hard to pull motor out to re-grease shaft after each run.

    Thanks Again

Its a good habit to pull your flex anyways after each run and re grease as well as dry it out. I like to use my heat shrink gun for drying out a flex. As far as water intrusion into the hull some have adopted clever methods while others stick with the traditional piece of silicone tubing on the stuffing tube end. I prefer the latter myself. But I've seen things like heat shrink, a custom made brass end piece with an o-ring inside. You name it. We are a pretty bright group all in all.

Heat shrink tubing is good too. Shrink it. There will be a little wear the first run, after that nothing.

Be sure to lube the outer part of the teflon tube as well. I've had water squeeze between the teflon and stuffing tube before.

I had a water intrusion problem with my son's pro boat fastech-- greased the flex shaft and that did not help. I discovered that there was a gap between the stuffing tube and the liner where the stuffing tube exits the hull. I put a dab of silicon sealant there and it solved the problem.
