    Motor/Esc recommendation

As a newbie I wonder how to know what kind of motor/ESC to use for a specifik hull. The hull I am looking for is a Octane 45 (length 1150mm, width 310mm, weight 3000g, monohull).

Can I equipped such hull with brushless motor/ESC without costing alot of money?

Please give link to recommended motor/ESC.

      Please help me more!
For example I can not find a motor in the www.offshoreelectrics.com that fits this?
Were can I find Lipo as 12S?
      ESC?

      Will this be very expensive?
      12S Lipo sounds expensive!

You are right, 12S will be expensive. The Arrow Shark Octane 45 is 1270 cm (50") long - a very large boat. It is definitively NOT a project for a newbie.

How fast do you want to go, and how much do you want to spend? Figure on close to $1000 minimum total outlay if 40 mph and any kind of reliability is desired with the Octane 45. Many spend two to three times that much to go 60 mph reliably in hulls that size.

I strongly recommend that you get a SV27R or similar model as your first boat. Leave the large projects for later.

You right, it will get very expensive...

One of the reasons with a large hull is the capability to withstand some smaller waves as I will run it in the sea.

But a boat like the "Genesis Offshore Brushless RC Twin Hull (1045mm)" that HobbyKing has requires much smaller motors/ESC etc?
That one is not that much smaller, is it possible to use smaller engine on a twin-hull?
