Thanks guys for all the info. I just came back from the pond and ran both packs-I ran the 2 low packs and after 2minutes boat slowed. Ran the 2 high volt packs and the boat ran for 5 min no problem. I think you all got it right. Bad pack. Charging all 4 packs now will check for the low /bad batt. I'll let you know what I find.

They should charge to 8.4v. If you have 2 batteries that are only charging to 7.xx volts, dont use them. Continue to monitor your other batters and make sure its not your charger that is improperly charging these batteries.
The batteries that arent charging properly are not going to be able to supply the current needed, which will put a substantial load on the other battery that it would normally not have. Continuing to run these would also almost definitely cause an esc failure.

How do I know which batt is bad? Run the boat with (2) 2s packs in series, one pack charged to 8.41v 23428mah the other pack charged to 8.38v 4976mah.

On the second run with boat using 2 other lipo's-both batts charged to 8.41v 2908mah. So they are good.

Do you balance charge them? -or just charge?

Even my cheap turnigy accucel 6 on balance charge will charge each cell to 4.2v. (or max. usually 4.19 -4.2v)

If you have 8.41v per pack, that is a bit high for my taste(some say that anything over 4.2v per cell is too much) , are the packs soft/do you feel air inside them?

And you do charge them seperatly?

23428mah ? must be a typo that one

No balance no pack will last too long. do you balance them?,

,-or is that charger not capable to show cell voltages?

The batts are charged seperatly with the balance plug. Packs are not soft. I like the hk batt voltage check thanks for the heads up!

Found the problem with batts. Cold solder on one of the wires from motor. resoldered and everything works great and motor/esc run much cooler. Batts charge properly now. I pulled on all the wires from motor and one wire fell off.
Thanks guys for all your expertise.
