    Wave Max, airplane guy

    Hello!

New to this hobby but already hooked! This is my first boat, I have loads of planes
    and helicopters.

I received a Wave Max rc boat as a gift this past winter. I havent had any luck finding info on it. I purchased some 7 cell 3000 mah batteries for it and it
is pretty tame. This boat has a 580 brushed motor and and mechanical speed
    controller.

Lets just say I got bored with it, installed a 3 cell, 20c 2200mah lipo aircraft battery to it and now I'm hooked for life. This boat may have hit 12-15 mph before and now its at 35-40 mph or so. Going off initial reaction, I'd say it be more like 60! With this setup, it might last about another 15 mins if that

So I'm here to stay. Excited that I have a weed trimmer and leaf blower motors to play with this winter! Nothing like a little DIY hull to pass the winter months.

My real question is this. I have given up on the speed controller. It sucks. A screw even came out of it and pinned it at full throttle. Luckily it was headed toward shore. Is this motor/hull worth modding? The rudder servo isnt reliable and the whole boat I would say has average quality. Its got a clear plastic prop and rudder.

Should I keep her slow....or water cool the motor, new electrics, prop, rudder etc?
I like the size of it (about 30 in) Or start over with a new boat and build it up?

    Suggestions welcome, thanks for reading!
