    Hydro & Marine Spider

I have just finished building my latest project, a beautiful little 3 wing hydro from H & M that they call the Spider.
Mine was supplied by Fastelectrics ( thanks Andrew ) and I have to say I am impressed by the build quality of the hull and the smooth yellow finish. No need to paint this baby.
The skinny central body made fitting the motor, ESC, and batteries a real challenge.
It is powered by a Feigao 8XL and Hydra ESC from OSE ( thanks Steven ) with Speedmaster strut and rudder also from OSE.
Its only had one short maiden voyage so far in rough water so still being sorted, but should be a great little P Hydro in our upcoming Trans Tasman Challenge.
    Regards
    Graham.

Gram its looking good. No need to worry about getting water inside that hull, there is just no space for it. :-) How do you get the cells out?

Nicely done... What are the dimensions on that hull???

Too bad it's not "Sport Hydro" legal hear in the states... Looks like it would be fast...

Looks like a rigger on that stuff that B Bonds used. My type of rigger. Not going to self destruct in a crash.

Steven - believe it or not, it is possible to remove the batteries with the motor in place.
With the piece of foam removed from on top of the batteries they can be juggled one at a time over the motor and ESC- just.

Darin - the hull is 25 inches long by 13 inches wide.
Down here we have no restriction on hydro hull type for LSH or P class other than excluding outriggers. The Spider is not quite a rigger, damn close mind you !
Do your US regulations exclude 3 wing type hulls ? Seems a bit dumb as many full sized unlimited and GP boats are this style.

I'd have to go back and read the revised Sport Hydro rules, but I recall that it does, unless it's a "scale" model... Plus there are % venting rules, etc...
