Amen Jim. So true! And never forget the acronym for a boat either. Break Out Another Thousand. I own a Hewes fishing boat now but had a Sea Ray 270 Sundancer. Has all the features you are looking for. They dont make them anymore but its not a bad one to own. Trailerable and comfortable. They have wasted deck space but make up for it on the inside. Would make a nice lake boat for sure!

my son has a 32' sailboat and the money he has poured into that hobby is obscene...sails...moorage....engine repairs....yearly maintenance... etc. Mind you he loves it as he races twice a week

Chris Craft boats are very nice too. A little more elegant than a Sea Ray. The quality of Bayliners has MUCH improved over the years. They are still low end boats though.

Another EXCELLENT rough water and tough boat made up your way is the CRUISERS, INC. line. Incredible boats. Expensive though.

Chris Craft had a period when they were producing crap also....tried to sell on their name. It almost put 'em out of business. Don't know how they are now.

I agree with Jim. The newer Honda outboards are awesome. Fuel efficient and very quiet. They are a pretty penny though but well worth it.
