GPS Anyone used this one?

Hi Guys

It's the Garmin eTrex Legend
I will ber useing it in my Proboat BJ26, just want to make sure this one will work before I order it.

I know this sounds stupid...but I actually use my GPS equipped cellphone in a ziploc bag. Luckily no incidents so far

Take a look at the Garmin Forerunner 101...Much smaller and will record fastest speed....I have one and it works great...

Is it water proof?

It is water resistant. If it makes you feel any better, I submerged mine for about 5 min. (not on purpose) removed the batteries and blew it out with compressed air and it worked fine. Water did not get inside.

They are however discontinued but you can still pick em up on ebay. Search for forerunner 101, and 201.

Also look for the foretrex 101. It is a hikers gps which is basically the same.
