Teflon into brass trouble, 3/16" Help

Is it just me or is it a pain in the --- to get the teflon into the stuffing tube for 3/16" teflon/cable.

I get about 2 or 3 inches in and thats it.

    Help me out here please.

Put teflon in freezer and brass tube in oven?

Just stretch it a bit...that will help to reduce the size of the teflon enough to fit in your brass tubing...

ray if you have enough Teflon cut it the same length as your stuffing tube then you should be able to push it thru then get ahold of it with some pliers or vise grips and pull the uncut part of the Teflon tube thru. Just make sure you leave enough uncut Teflon for the entire length of the stuffing tube.

I have heard that pulling on the teflon to stretch it out some helps, as it will come back to shape , but I always used some thin oil on both parts, not sure about the heating and cooling part , the teflon would only be stiffer, although that does work for gunsmithing and mechanical work. Try oil first or some spray lube. Kev.

Never tried it on a stuffing tube/teflon, but anytime I have a similar issue, I use spray silicone to help lube the parts.
