a 700sc on 12 cells with a 42mm prop would be pretty good.If you want some speed try an 8xl on 12 cells.

Yeah, I run a SV motor in my Titan 29 and it does real good.....if your looking for brushless and inexpensive that might be a way to go...

I have one which runs on a brushed Graupner 8.4V, RC Hydros 10-32 90 amp ESC and 12 IB4200 NiMH cells. This setup is actually quite fast. I just recorded some top speeds with some different props using the original Garmin Etrex GPS - a lot of extra weight.

          X642 - 30.1 mph
          X445 - 31.1 mph
          M445 - 32.5 mph

Without the GPS in it I would expect these speeds would have been somewhat higher.

i have one they are nice just do yourself a favor and add some strength to the hull, alittle bit of fiber glass and wood goes along way, i did not like the ss1 in the boat because of the low freeboard the motor is a little on the heavy side, go with a sv27 motor and esc combo with a small prop to slow it down, then you can always prop up later and it will scream and get a little more freeboard for waves

The boat is generally good in waves and seems very good at staying upright.

Thats what I want to Know thanks guys,Im going to go Brushed on 12 cells.(the only reason why im doing this is because its for my son and I dont want it to be to fast for him to handle,we can always upgrade to brushless later!

Greg's boat is very good fast boat as well
If you ran a 645 i bet you could see a performance gain. Ralph runs a 51 MM prop with his boat maybe you should try ?

Do I have to join the hull and the deck together or does it come already together?

You have to join the hull and deck together unless you have BBY assemble it for you.

With thin CA. First you may have to sand/trim the top edges of the hull to get a good fit with the deck. Then once the deck is fitted such that there are no twists in the hull it can be temporarily taped in place. With the hull upside down put a bead of CA on the outside seam where the hull joins the deck. Tilt the boat and it will run the length of the seam by gravity. Repeat the same procedure for the inner seam.

The kit comes with a cd of instructions that explain this. It is actually fairly simple to do. Hope this helps.

No problem. With the instructions and help from this forum you should be all right. You can also email BBY if you have any questions about the build. Which kit are you looking at getting? (i.e. Advanced?, Race Basic?)
