The 4S setup will be enough. Since the motors are spinning at more than the maximum efficient rpm you should be able to add a little pitch to the props. I believe you have enough battery to get another few mph at least. Find someone with experience in successfully modding props and tell them what you want.

I wouldn't try for 80 mph with your 4Ssetup, but 70-73 should be doable if the boat stays on the water. You may be able to gain a bit by adjusting the strut depth, but the prop pitch is pretty simple. BTW any boat will be faster on dead smooth water, if it's faster in chop that means you have the boat stuck down too much. Hitting even tiny waves slows a properly trimmed cat down.

Jay, thanks for the advice. I've got some 447's s&b from OSE I'm gonna try today and then go from there. I don't really like this boat on 6s but this is it's last shot to do it before I go back to 4s. What do you think about some 447/3 ? Would they help anything?

Dude, your right there!!! only 6/10 of a mph... Hell if the wind is blowin the right way on your pond you'll be over 70 no sweat. I like when the wind is behind the boat on the back stretch so to speak, I always get my fastest runs that way, got to be worth 2 to 5 mph

I'd not use them. They have the same pitch as the 2-blade props and will just load the motor more, slowing the rpm down. With two motors you have plenty of blade area with the 2-bladed props to push the hull to its terminal velocity.

            similar setup exceeding 70??

Hi there, I don't know if you have checked out this video:

The pbs guys in Germany are using a similar setup motorwise and propellerwise
and they have made it to about 73mph as the video claims.
They give their exact setup during the first seconds of the video

            Cheers
            Andreas

Yeah Andreas that's what got me into this project.....Very impressive boat there. Took mine out today and did a beautiful 55mph cartwheel across the pond. Servo has a stripped gear now. Always something

I think some people got the wrong end of the stick in what I was trying to state. I do not saw race. I sport putter about in oval format, therefore top end speed is not my quest, stability, turning ability and speed are, in that order. If you saw race go for it.

No biggie bro. I didn't sweat it for a second. I enjoy the challenge of making this thing fast, sometimes. Other days I want to pull out the ole glock 40 cal and sink it in the middle of the pond.
