    Fine design rc.

The attatude of fine design rc has put a sour taste in our mouths. You all may remember my previous posts about my out standing for a H&M No step 2 hull, which was ordered on the 26/01/10. the only contact I had from Chris Fine was when a forum member got intouch with chris and I immediately received an up date that my hull was in shipment to fine design, that was 2 months ago, I have sent many e-mails but to no avail.
I feel sorry for all american RC vendors ,as we find buying direct from the makers and buying from china, all our ORDERS are honoured and received with in to weeks to Australia
I ordered another H&M no step 2 yellow hull direct from Mr Oliver Siess H&M Germany, the time the order was sent , to the time it arrived at my front door was 29 days to Western Australia, Australia.
So that tells you some thing about FINE DESIGN RC, plus the rest of my order hasn't been honoured.
I hope that some one lets Fine Design RC know what he is doing to you other american vendors Cheers Wayn

Don't let your experience with Fine Design discourage using American vendors. FD's rep is well known on several sites. You have a great one right here ... OSE. There are many others also. If you ask for reputable vendors here, you'll get answers fast.

      Wayn,

I feel sorry that you did not research FDM on the web before placing your order. Caveat emptor. Most US vendors have distanced themselves from him as far as possible. When I was a manufacturer (RC-Hydros.com), I would not even allow him to carry my products because of his reputation.

Another question, why H&M have not cut this company off as a distributor is beyond my belief. OSE would be a good candidate, the prices would go up but you would have a reputable distributor. Carrying stock is expensive!

Andy are you the guy that made those mythical brushed ESC's that I've heard so much about?

On a side note I bought something from Chris and didn't hear anything, but one day the order showed up after a week or two. It was wrong. And he sent the right part immediately. He's ok in my book, but others may have different opinions.

There are no ther vendors in this country or anywhere else to purchase H&M? I've been looking at the circus circus, but can't bring myself to push the buy button knowing of FD reputation, plus I've been burned by him before

I tried to work with Oliver at H&M about 3 years ago to be a U.S. Distributor. He wouldn't even answer me!

I've spoken with Oliver over email many times before. Sometimes I have to resend the email, but he has always gotten back with me. It seems he does speak some English, but what I do is send an email via English and then put the German translation below. That way they can use either and I believe it also allows him to send it on to his staff to handle your questions or order.

I recommend skipping FD, email Oliver directly. Otherwise you can always enlist the assistance of other forum members here that are in or near Germany. Several have helped to get parts for us local guys in the past without issue.

H&M uses a quote system to track their orders and communicate with the customer. The quote system spits out in English as well. The key is to communicate your questions and order via both English and German so that it can be sent on to the staff.

                              I hope this helps.
