Reverse on esc

I just got a turnigy marine 180 it has a reverse option
Can using this hurt anything ,speed , life of motor , ext. Thanks

You shouldn't hurt anything. Is there a delay setting for the time between forward and reverse? My HobbyWing car esc has that feature. I would make it as much delay as possible.

If using flex cable, don't use reverse too much or at too high a speed as it could damage the cable. That said I program reverse on every controller that allows it, I find it useful occasionally on the course. I never pull reverse for more than one second at a time.

If you keep full speed on your stick than it wont.
Why not just disable it? Do you need it on your boat?
