    Newby from Italy

    Hi,
I am new to this forum but I have a quite long story on rc boat. I live in Italy (so sorry for my poor english) and I am now going to rebuild an H&M Drifter MKII.
I previously had a brush motor but I'd like to convert it into brushless and I am here to ask you which is the best motor setup for this boat. Budget is very limited.
I've seen kb45 700kv with 10s lipo that can be good or a Feigao 540 XL 14 with 8s. Lipo will be turnigy 5800 mah 30c and esc Turnigy marine 80 HV (but I think it is a little small, probably better Turnigy super brain 100A with added water cooling).
What do you think about it?
Warm Regards and thank you very much for your time,
    Federico

    Welcome aboard!
    Feigao 580L instead of KB45 under 6S, 8 or 10S might be a bit heavy for a 920mm hull

Welcome , you can go for the cheap Feigao , but i would recommend spend a little more on a Neu , or a Castle/ Neu motor & you will save in the long run , i have not read good things about the 580L

For your nice boat(s), recommend the Neu. I swapped out a Feigao 540 XL for a 1515 Neu and could not be happier...

But for a low cost fun boat, you can't beat the Feigao's price/performance, and if you have a problem, Steven honors the warranty if you buy it on OSE.

Im interested in hearing some feed back on the leapard motors myself , the only catch is we will have to wait for a water jacket to be made for the bigger can motors like the 5682 & 5692.... Have you noticed the leapard motors look alot like the Castle/ Neu motors without the fins ???

                Hi,
thank you so much for your replies but now I am a litlle confused.
Do you think a 580l with 8s lipo will be a better setup for the budget ?

                Warm Regards, Federico
