    Good 6s-8s outrunner?

    Specs I'm looking for:
540 size mount holes (fits in my water cooled mount)
    <50mm wide
    <75mm long
    2,500 + watt rating
    5mm or 8mm shaft (prefer 5mm)
    6s-8s Kv rating for 24-30k rpm. (1000 - 1500kv range)

Shooting for a low RPM, high torque, big prop setup. (32" single cat)

    Any suggestions?

That sounds perfect. The next question is where to get one. Google didn't help much.

Empire Hobby, is the US dealer .... they do make a 1100 kv motor in 4025 range , but it can only handle 5-6s & is rated @ 2200-2970 WATTS , i would go for the 890kv motor myself ....they have a 4035/4200 WATT motor range , but they will not fit in the 540 water cooled mount ....

                Nice! Thanks!

What kind of performance are you getting from the boat it's in?

its in a DF mono , gpsing over 60 mph & the sound the outruners make is wicked !!!! Im doing a lot of testing with Hyperion products with the help of my dealer at present , there lipos are some of the best batteries i have run so far ... i know they are working on a new range of inrunners as we speak , cant wait to try them out as well ... all the outrunners are 90-95 % efficient ...

You also may want to check out Scorpion Motors @http://www.innov8tivedesigns.com/
They have a line of high power heli motors.
BTW Scorpion also manufactures motors for Hyperion.
I use both for my planes....yes I fly RC planes too, and like both brands. In fact these two brands are the only ones I use now, replacing old Axis with new Hyperions or Scorpions.
                    good luck!

It appears that the Scorpion and Hyperion outrunner motors are the same - at least some are. For example the 4025/1100 motors have the same specs and look identical except for the colours. I run a Scorpion 4025/1100 on 6S and like it a lot. Rated at 100 amps on 6S it handles more if fed enough air. It runs high 40s on 6S1P in a SprintCat 40 for a nice sport setup. On 8S the 890 Kv version might be a better choice.

You are right in saying that they are the same Fluid , call me one eyed , but i get better back up with Hyperion & better prices , i cant stand the guy that sells Scorpion stuff over here & he charges more for the same product . Yes the only down fall with the outrunner motors is they designed to have cold air flow into the front fan of the motor , which is a problem in a hull with its hatch taped down , i try not to run mine more then 2- 3 minutes at a time ,to keep the motor temps down...
