    upping wire awg?

    Hey guys,
I purchased a hobbyking motor 36 60 2200kv. It comes with pretty small wire. I have had more than one instance of the connectors melting off. I run it on 5000 40c 2s in series with a swordfish 120. The props i use are fine for my setup. (1445,x445,etc).
Has anyone out their ever tried to replace these leads with a heavier wire?

    Steve.

You cannot replace them, they are the actual wire used for the windings. These wires are coated with lacquer and only the ends can be soldered - cut them short and you might as well toss the motor. The props you are running are clearly not fine for your current setup.

Yet another disadvantage of buying these cheap Chinese motors. Prop down, reduce your run time, or buy a better motor. Sorry.

Prop down and reduce your run time. Melted connectors are a clear sign that you are pulling too much current for the given equipment and setup.
