Rio 51 conversion

Im thinking about converting my rio to electric how fast do you think iot will go with this stuff ??

The Rio is a great looking and sounding boat done up for FE. I love mine and its always a crowd pleaser.

BUT......one thing to keep in mind is that its essentially a 51" Super V as to its handeling characteristics. In a straight line even in some chop its fine but cornering in that same chop is interesting and it can roll over if not careful. Its a horrible cornerer at those speeds whereas a Delta Force type hull will just power through the chop full ...speed ahead with little or no issues.

Its not the boats fault...it just wasn't designed for those speeds. Also, fully loaded it pushing around 21 pounds so its a bit "porky".....

The standard drive shaft is not suitable either for the strains of a FE setup, I have broken numerous shafts right where its stepped down to 1/4"..(gets expensive replacing props, shafts, drive dogs etc.... Get a good aftermarket flex shaft assy.

The hull is actually built like a brick shi...house. Its taken quite a beating over the past few years, flipped, rolled, hit markers, been hit by other boats etc and has held together well. (filling the bow with expandable foam has really helped it hold together in my opinion).
