The next day my wife washed my clothes to find a hundred little holes in my t-shirt and jeans, from what I assume was dry acid that liquafied and ate my clothes as I swam threw it! Now, should you believe anything I just said???? Take your chances and see if your outcome will be the same. I suggest you do what these guys say and amp down one way or another. Going to a size or two smaller prop won't make you loose 20 mph but it might just save your setup...
Good advice and there is a lesson to be learned here. Put some foam on your hatch cover and wear old clothes! If no old clothes, swim naked, your skin grows back and you can have your wife apply salve!

double up you batteries to run parrallel or prop down some.

Just switch over to lipos Unless you are running some very high end NIMH packs your just going to cook them. They were probably meant for an RC Car anyway 30 amps max. I tried running some good Matched packs I had in my SV and they got smokin hot switched to 40C lipos and never looked back.
      2 SV 27's and Vac-U-Pickle UL-1 Power

You might as well take the plunge into lipos.......you're just reducing your speed and pleasure by downsizing your prop.......these 2s 5000's are only $19 at hobby city and they will really wake your boat up.......and run cooler. 25-30c are only a few bucks more.

Now be carefull, it's a formula for how your "c" rating and mAh gives you your max amp draw for your lipo's... You can do ALOT more damage with lipo's exploding vs. round cells. I'm not trying to run you around in a fear circle but it's always better safe then sorry..
I once said I'd never run lipo's, now I won't run anything else....

Good decision to go with lipos..............be reminded that the ones you bought supply 80 amps continuous...............about what your motor is pulling, you just squeeked by.

What is that cut off voltage? If it is 3.0v or lower per cell be careful...You really should have bought a higher capacity battery and your prop is? What connectors are you using, bullet or?
